Unable to Migrate VM to another host
Vcenter 6.5
I have 9 ESXI hosts. 7 of which are ESXI 6.5 2 are ESXI 6.0
I have a VM Windows 2016 DataCenter Server that I need to migrate to another Host.
Presently the VM is on a ESXI 6.5 Host and I am trying to migrate it to a 6.0 Host.
I get this error
How can I migrate this VM? I powered it off first, I get the same error powered on or off
Thank you

User Environment Manager 9.7 has been released
We're happy to announce that User Environment Manager 9.7 has been released. Just a single new feature this time, but a very important one if you're using the UEM SyncTool: application blocking and privilege elevation are now also supported in SyncTool scenarios.
Other changes:
- We fixed a bug that prevented [ExcludeFiles] and [ExcludeIndividualRegistryValues] entries from being processed correctly in rare situations. So rare, that it took until last month for someone to report the problem, which was caused by a bit of code that had been unchanged for nearly nine years :-)
- Too specific to warrant inclusion in the release notes, but if you happen to have hundreds and hundreds of DirectFlex executables configured in a single Flex config file, you no longer need to wait a few (or more than a few...) seconds for the Executables list to be populated when you switch to the DirectFlex tab for that config file :-)
- Mapping drives with explicit credentials was already deprecated in UEM 9.0, but until now we still supported config files created with older versions.
No longer: as of UEM 9.7, you'll see a [WARN] Mapping a drive with explicit credentials is no longer supported message in the log if such a config file is encountered by the UEM agent. The agent will still try to map the drive, but it will do so without those credentials.
Editing such a config file in the Management Console will silently remove the credentials.

ESXi 6.0 U3 : root password on console, vsphere and html
Hello,
I'm able to open the connection using root on console mode; directly on the ESXi server.
But, using vsphere (6.0) and html, I'm not able....Something is wrong my strong password.
I use a french keyboard.
Instead of managing the keyboard problem; I would like to disable the "strong" password rule.
Make something more simple.
I also enable the SHELL ...
If there is something to do through the shell, it could be great.

VM list with Drs/VM groups
Hi,
I'm trying to make a report which gives a list of VM's with all the useful information.
We are using VM/Host rules in our environement (stretched cluster) so we have VM's in VM groups / DRS groups.
But that is not a property of a VM, to get this information, you have to check the groups at the cluster level and search for the VM in the groups.
I could do it in Powershell but I couldn't find a way to do it in vROps.
Is there a way in the report to get a field that gets filled if the VM is a member of another object like VM groups ?
It would also be useful for affinity rules.
Thanks,
Multiple active adapters on vswitch plus spanning tree
I know this is kinda a rookie question, but just making sure I am 100% correct in my understanding before I go and recommend changing something.
In short working with two ESXi boxes (6.0) that were installed by a 3rd party. In short the boxes have literally about 20 1000baseT NICs going to a pair of HP E3800. Some interfaces are trunked some set as a access port. Every vSwitch though has at least two physical NICs affliated with it with all set as active. I thought you could not run multiple active NICs on a standard vSwitch unless you were running regular Etherchannel or LACP on the ports in question and a shared control plane (vss,vpc,H3C,etc) on the switches. Am I correct in my understanding on this or am I off base?
Also just to confirm, virtual switches don’t participate in STP correct?
Reason for the questions is there have been some persistent database replication issues (particularly when routed) between the virtual machines on this host and the rest of the environment. Nothing seems to be wrong on the database servers as far as settings but they just lose contact of their peer every so often for no good reason.

Host preparation - Upgrade from vShield to NSX
After upgrading from vShield 5.5.4 to NSX 6.2.8, hosts are incorrectly prepared.
vShield-VXLAN-service agency performs the removal of the VIB esx-vxlan, vsip, and the second NSX agency performs the installation. This is an endless process of removing, installing, and rebooting a host.
How to prevent removal of the VIB with the old vShield and leave only the installation of the new NSX agency?
vCenter Upgrade 6.5U1 to 6.7U1
Hello guys,
we are trying to upgrade our vCenter servers with external PSCs from 6.5U1 to 6.7U1.
currently our environment consist of two sites main and DR.
each site has one vcenter with an external PSC, so we have vcenters configured in linked mode between the two sites
the following topology is deployed
we have started the upgrade process by upgrading our PSCs first (Main and DR sites)
then we went through the vcenter upgrade of the DR site , but in the stage two of the upgrade we have got the following error
anyone went through this?
thank you in advance
regards,
Gracefully exit vRO and return a value
I have a workflow that evaluates several conditions to verify whether a server is able to move into operating stance. The top level has code that the user calls via a Day2 within vRA gathering either the machine or deployment name passing it to the second level. The second level calls more workflows depending on OS and such. These additional workflows are specific checks and return a fail or pass value depending on the results.
I need to find a way to exit the entire workflow if the result is a failure. For example, we check the OS to ensure its patched with the result a boolean and goes to the next workflow. A group wants to call this workflow by API. I would like to come up with a way to return a value (JSON / boolean / string) back to the API and exit the entire workflow in case of a failed check. However since this is a planned exit I want to end the workflow gracefully. For example...
if(apiCall && osCheck == "failed"){
return a false
exit the primary workflow not just the sub-workflow
}
Has anyone worked with a statement like this?
Thanks
- Bill
I'm having trouble installing the vmware tools, version on 10.3.5 on a windows 10 machine
We keep getting the notice as soon as we start the installation "This installer requires you to restart your system to finish installing Microsoft VC Redistributable and then re-run the installer. For details, refer to the following <A HREF="https://kb.vmware.com/kb/55798"> Knowledge Base article</A>. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to manually restart later.
The problem is this happens as soon as we run the installer. When we reboot and run the installer again, the same thing happens. We've tried this multiple times.
We are installing this on a Windows Server 2016 unit with Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable installed. I have tried to use the REBOOT=reallysuppress option - passing it on with the /v option also with no success though I may not have done that correctly.
Is there a solution for this?
How do I get completely rid of this LUN on a SD Card used for booting ESXi?
Capture Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App
Hello Everyone,
Is anyone using Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App. It is a new product by Cisco that combines Productivity tools and Meeting Center. We are using Writable Volume Profile only however it does not capture users login and every-time user logs in to their VDI the app starts automatically and asks users to sign in. The Username field is saved but not the password.
Any help would be appreciated
