VMRC or Web Console copy paste at login prompt

Hi guys,

I have an issue where copy paste is not working at the windows login screen using VMRC or Web console

Following to KB VMware Knowledge Base  i had made the necessary changes to the VM advanced settings and the copy paste is working just fine once i login to the windows OS BUT on the login

screen it self when typing the password i cant paste it, is there any documentation on this being a designed behavior or may be a workaround the issue i have passwords 30 bits long so typing theme

in is a pain,

Can't connect to vsphere web client with "503 Service Unavailable" error

Hello everyone,

 

I have vsphere 6.5 run on HP DL380 G10, everything is ok in the first 1 month.

 

At Wednesday I can't access vsphere web client with "request time out" error after click on "Login" button, i try to restart management agent services with command "services.sh restart" and after that i got error "503 Service Unavailable (Failed to connect to endpoint: [N7Vmacore4Http16LocalServiceSpecE:0x01bc5f78] _serverNamespace = / action = Allow _port = 8309)".

 

VMs in host still runing and accessable, I has been try "esxcli" and got error "Connection failed".

 

Anyones have idea for this error?, pls help me.

IP range observed not showing it the network cable was drawn from port 23 and 24

Hi there,

 

I have a VMware cluster and wanted to  connect to a ISCSI network connected to an aruba 2920 24 ports switch left 2 ports which is the last 2 ports (which are sharing with sfp) to use, I plugged in the network cable to port 23 and the vcenter could not pick up the observed range of IP address, and same goes to port 24, however when I plug the cable to another port to test, I managed to get the observed IP range in just few seconds, I check in the switch, there is no VLAN configured, anything that I can change to make it work?

VMWare Remote Access to VMs

Hi, I would like to know, what tool is used by vmware workstation to do remote desktop access to VMs (both local and remote). Is it possible for example, to have hyper-V VM and do remote access using vmware workstation?

 

Due to vmware and hyper-v incompatibility, i cannot have both, most likely i have to use hyper-v, but I really like the vmware remote experience.

External vRO Control center HTML5 Client Configuration Issue

I am unable to access html5 client with vRO 7.6 cluster configuration. We are using F5 load balancer and the monitoring of pool members shows down with the following monitoring configuration for the port 8283

 

Send String: GET /vco-controlcenter/docs/

 

Receive string: HTTP/1\.(0|1) (200)

 

The error which we get for cluster URL is  "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"

 

For individual vRO server we get the error like { "error": "invalid_request", "error_description": "Must provide a matching redirect uri." }

 

Any help appreciated and I followed the following document for vRO LB config

#PSOD ESXi 6.0.0 GP Exception 13 multi-times

Hi guys,

My UCS C460 installed wtih ESXi 6.0.0 Build 3620759(VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-9313334-Custom-Cisco-6.0.3.5.iso) is running some Linux and windows servers.After half years stable running,I began to get some PSOD with GP Exception 13.At the very start,it happened every 2 weeks.Then it happened more and more frequently, the server will need to restart every 2 days.

Each time,I will get a GP Exception 13 but the following message is different.I have replaced the mother board and memory card,nothing changed.So I believe it should not be a hardware issue.

I collect some error message but I can not locate the root cause.

My UCS C460M4's BIOS version is C460M4.2.0.12b.0.062120160920,

cpu Microcode Patch Revision is 0x0b00001d

ESXi 6.0.0 Build 3620759(VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-9313334-Custom-Cisco-6.0.3.5.iso)

Hardware:

2 X Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E7-8867 v4 @ 2.40GHz Type 0, Family 6, Model 79, Stepping 1

4 X 64G DDR4

3 X Intel Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4

1 X Intel X540 10 Gbps Gbps Network Controller

1 X Intel(R) I 350 1 Gbps Network Controller

1 X Raid controller

I also connect some usb network adapter on the ucs.

Would anybody give me some help? This problem has been bothering me for months,any help would be appreciated.Thanks

When did you start supporting Debian 10 "buster" ?

Debian 10 "buster" has been released, But "debian 10" cannot be selected when creating a guest vm-os. I created it with "debian 9" configuration, But i can't copy file to guest vm-os. I guess this might be related to GNOME or Wayland.

Network File Copy with tlsv1.2 ESXI 6.7 U1

Hi

 

I was using the curl to upload the virtual disk and then spawn the VM in the host using the disks.

My ESXi host versoin is <= 6.5 ,below was the command which is working fine for these versions.

 

cat /home/rk/000585f3-7d38-f1d2-0005-85f37d38f1d2/test.disk1.vmdk|curl -T - --fail -v --insecure --request POST --header "Connection: Keep-Alive" --header "Content-Type: application/x-vnd.vmware-streamVmdk"

 

I have recently updated one of my host from ESXi 6.5 to 6.7 U1 , where the protocol support has been restricted to tlsv1.2 . I have updated the curl to 7.65-1 and openssl to 1.0.2r.

 

Updated the command "cat /home/rk/test.disk1.vmdk|curl -T --tlsv1.2 --fail -v --insecure --request POST --header "Connection: Keep-Alive" --header "Content-Type: application/x-vnd.vmware-streamVmdk" https://10.65.218.107/nfc/52492229-f05d-7642-df72-ee39eca0f717/disk-0.vmdk"

 

Response is as below.

ESXI 6.5 installation fails - exited with status 255

Hey Guys,

 

Trying to install esxi 6.5 Update 2 onto a SD card in a Dell Poweredge R610. Have removed all partitions on the sd card and also created a partition on it without any luck as well as tried to use the lifestyle controller boot option to deploy esxi and got the same issue.

 

In the setup it can see the sd card but for reasons unknown seems to not be able to write to it.

 

I had a look at ESXI 6.5 installation fails - exited with status 255  which had the same error but was a different issue

Get Folders in orchestrator configuration menu?

Hello All,

 

I'm looking to find a way to obtain the sub folder(s) under a folder in the configuration menu in orchestrator.

 

Below is example and I'm trying to get all folders under sites to obtain folder titled "Site A"  and "Site B" to use in action at presentation layer of the workflow.

 

I see ConfigurationElement in API explorer but that appears to be Element specific and don't see how to obtain the "folder"

     Site A

          DNS1

          DNS2

 

     Site B

          DNS1

          DNS2

 

 

Any help in how to obtain the above information or where to continue my search is appreciated.

The version of VMware vCenter Server installed on the remote host is

6.0.x prior to 6.0u3b or 6.5.x prior to 6.5c. It is, therefore,

affected by a flaw in FlexBlazeDS when processing AMF3 messages due to

allowing the instantiation of arbitrary classes when deserializing

objects. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by

sending a specially crafted Java object, to execute arbitrary code.

 

 

our vcenter's version 6.0.0 build 3018524

 

We did vulnerabilities scan and we found the mentioned above, Please help us to solve this issue.

VMware Workstation 15.1 mouse issue with RDP and Windows 10 1903 host

I have a computer that I RDP into that runs the latest version of VMware Workstation (15.1). I just upgraded it from Windows 10 1809 to Windows 10 1903.

There is a defect where anytime the mouse changes inside a VM (like from a pointer to a hand) the mouse jumps slightly, making it very annoying to actually do anything in the VM with a mouse. The guest OS can be anything, Windows OR Linux. I'm also running the latest VMware tools in the guest.

This problem only occurs if the host is running Windows 10 1903 AND you are RDPing into that host. This is guest agnostic.

When I reverted the host back to 1809 the problem went away. The mouse jumping problem seems to be associated with a Windows 10 1903 host running VMware Workstation.

I'm not sure where to report this bug. I tried to buy a support contract for VMware Workstation but you can't buy one if you only hold one license.

Is there a place where I can report this bug? Does anyone have a workaround for it?

vSAN Networking Design - 10GbE Base-T

Hi all,

 

Our team currently building a vSAN All Flash Cluster (around 4 nodes) but still in consideration of networking part.

 

As the requirement for vSAN All Flash network is 10GbE shared or dedicated with low latency of RTT.

 

 

So our team is considering to use 10GbE Base-T (copper) NIC as well as Cisco Nexus 93108TC-EX 48 x 100M/1/10GBASE-T ports and 6 x 40/100-Gbps QSFP28 ports as our ToR switches for these 4 nodes (each nodes will have 4x 10GbE copper link to the Switches) to ensure it will compatible with our main 1Gb copper network as well as saving cost.

 

 

So i've been wondering if anyone have experienced in using All-Flash vSAN Cluster with 10GbE Base-T Network design?

windows 10 1809 slow

I downloaded the Windows 10 1809 and Server 2019 ISOs the day they became available so I can start working on my templates.

 

I built the templates with EFI, paravirtual for the C drive and vmxnet3 adapter. I've been using this combo for other versions of windows 10/8/7and windows server 2008r2/2012r2/1016 without issue.

 

So far Windows 2019 (with desktop experience) seems to be ok at least for a basic vm and guest customization. Haven't tried anything else yet.

 

Windows 10 1809 on the other hand is very, very slow to reboot after the initial install or even just rebooting after making some changes post install. After installing the OS it took 10-15 minutes for the initial windows setup stuff (user, security settings, etc) to appear . I tried a VM set to BIOS and it seemed faster but was still quite slow. Server 2019 and other versions of windows 10 have no issue.

 

The hosts are esxi 6.5 and 6.7.

 

I haven't had a chance to try every combo of BIOS/EFI/vmxnet3/e1000e/paravirtual/lsi sas to see if one is the cause of the issue but was wondering if anyone else had noticed any issues or if it was just me?

ESXi 5.0 Total Lock down Mode

Hi,

 

We are having ESXi 5.0 in our environment with Vcenter 5.1.

 

Since last week we are facing issue with our two ESXi 5.0 servers which is automatically disconnected from vcenter.We have not done any changes on ESXi & vCenter before this issue occurred.

 

To check the issue we cannot get Direct User console, SSH & local ESXi server access as well.

 

When welog in as root directly to DCUI we are getting below message:

Authentication denied. Direct console access has been disabled by the administrator for <my server name>.

 

We have gone through the few ref. links on Internet and came to know that the issue occurred because of Total Lock Down Mode enabled but not found exact cause how it's enabled automatically.

 

Can anyone help me on this issue.
