Is there anyway to setup an alert whenever any change to a VM in vRA is made? Ive got the email alerts to work if a vm is deployed or destroyed using the subscriptions but not for any other changes. Still new to Orchestrater so any help will be great.

unknown missing vm status
Hi, I'm pretty sure this is a 7.4 bug but I've haven't been hit this hard by it, in my DR pod I can't seem to add a new desktop pool. All the vms come in an unknown (missing) status, and I've tried restarting the horizon environment a few times with no luck. My current pools look ok, but I can't really test them directly based on how our environments are setup without a DR event. Does anyone have an work around for this, I have an SR open, but my normal methods aren't working out side of digging through the adls database which I don't like doing.

GPU passthrough /GPU drivers detection on guest machine (ubuntu 16.04) on vmwareworkstation 14 Pro?
Hi , as part of ML , i need to install CUDA toolkit , in my ubuntu machine which is running on vmware workstation pro. My host PC has quadro M2200 drivers. With the NVDIA control panel, i can make vmware use the NVDIA graphics card. But i cannot , seem to have NVDIA GPU drivers when i look for the existing drivers in vmware.
I have read , that people have managed to do so and some say its just not possible. I am quite confused. Is there anyone who has managed succesfully , to pass throufgh GPU on vmware ?

converter SDK 404 error
while calling the sdk program , it throws 404 error. when i try to access the url https://<converterserver>:443/converter/sdk/ , it shows 404 not found in the browser as well.

We have the HA Cluster of two IBM x3550 M4 hosts with Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 v2 and two LENOVO x3550 M5 hosts with Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 v4 (ESXi version 6.0.0, 8934903), EVC Mode on (Intel® "Ivy Bridge" Generation)
Over 100 VMs are hosted on the Cluster, but there is an issue with one on them.
Every week at the same time the VM crushes with an error vcpu-0| W115: MONITOR PANIC: vcpu-1:VERIFY vmcore/vmm/platform/common/platform.c:30 bugNr=17332
Guest OS is SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 (64-bit), Compatibility: ESXi 5.5 and later (VM version 10)
There are no useful information in vmware.log (zipped log files are attached)
All memory being accessed by VM is local (see screenshot of esxtop with NUMA stats)
We tried to relocate VM on the different host, but it was helpless.

Microsoft/FSLogix profile container and VMWare UEM
Now that Microsoft has acquired FSLogix, I'd like to start a discussion around using BOTH FSLogix & UEM together.
One of my pain points with UEM is around Microsoft's User-based setups of OneDrive and Teams... These apps are bloating the User Profile and causing delays. And still have limitations.
Those using VMware AppVolumes can work around some of these issues, but going forward it seems Microsoft will be leveraging VHDs as part of the new modern Profiles.
FSLogix adds the following features to the Microsoft portfolio:
- Outlook caching + Windows Search support
- OneDrive for Business (and Files On-Demand) support
- Native SharePoint support in Windows Explorer
- Office 365 ProPlus computer activation license roaming
- Skype for Business GAL caching
- OneNote caching
- Microsoft Teams support for Virtual Desktops
Does anyone use FSLogix along with UEM?
If so, what kind of control do you gain/loose with the use of the VHD? With UEM, you get the benefit of exclusions to control the size.
I know the default FSLogix container size is 30GB...just trying to determine what admins are experiencing out there.

Is there a way to unpublish?
Is this somewhere written in a file where you can delete an entry and republish?

Upgrade Question 7.4 to 7.6
Currently running version Horizon 7.4 with some Instant Clone pools. I want/need to upgrade vCenter Appliance to 6.7 and i see there is an issue with being on 7.4 if running Instant Clones. The question I have is Can I upgrade vCenter to 6.7 without interrupting the current pools as they are now? I don't need alll hell breaking loose at this point. Need to know if i have to upgrade to Horizon 7.6 first. Any comments or suggestion are welcome. Thanks.

Guest Customization Windows 10 1803 starts but doesnt finish
I am building a new Windows 10 1803 template and using the same guest customization that I have used with previous builds of Windows 10. The vm is cloned from the template and applies sysprep successfully but the machine never reboots/renames or gets added to the domain.
I have rebuilt the Guest Customization settings from scratch and still get the same result.
Any ideas?

High VRAM usage
After like 10-20h work. VRAM usage come to high. Its normal? My second PC with GTX 1060 3gb use only 0.4/3gb. But on main PC i use 10VM. I always thought that the virtual machine does not use the VRAM.

Workstation 14.X - disappointed with performance, bugs etc
I am a paid user of Workstation and its expense was by far the largest amount paid for software in the last few years.
After about a year of use I cannot say that I am happy with my purchase.
The only reason I use this software is to let me use an Autodesk product in a Windows 7 guest.
Here are my list of observations:
performance is not good: everything is slow
shared folders is even slower, and ultimately fails to retrieve the file I just clicked on with a message the file is no longer found
unity has become unreliable, it just reverts back by itself
sometimes I lose windows 7 taskbar in the guest
a bluetooth mouse kills the guest, makes it totally unusable
the screen flickers dragging it to a different monitor
every update from windows I need to fix credential guard because the guest won't start (you need to fix this Microsoft Gold Partner!)
how many times does one have to install "tools"?
Twice I attempted to post to the forum with real concrete questions, took weeks to get a response from VMware.
I stopped paying for Autodesk updates because there was a never ending stream of paid for new versions, introducing new bugs all the time. At the same time bugs in older versions weren't fixed.
Everytime I get a notice of a new workstation version I am thinking to myself "why don't you fix what you have?"

Security Server within a Meraki MX DMZ - Desktops launch with black screens then close.
We attempted to put a MX100 into our environment last Friday, it replaced an ASA. We checked with Meraki support several times to see if the rules appeared correct for a Security Server pin hole.
We cut everything over, but never got it working. You could authenticate externally, see the desktop choices, launch a desktop -- but then the screen would launch black and never load a desktop and eventually just close with a connection error. If we switched the connection method over to RDP in the View client application it would work, but then it wasn't going through the security server.
Meraki support had no idea how to fix it, I can't find any documentation on how to do this with Meraki anywhere either. Our other thought is to maybe try an UAG but I'd rather get our current config working before overhauling it and trying to get the MX in.
So if anyone out there has Meraki and security server, please enlighten me on how you did it.

VM's lose network connectivity randomly
We have been experiencing some VM's losing network connectivity sporadically. The VM's stay online for a while then suddenly it acts like it is no longer on the network. Everything appears to be correct. The vNICs are connected and you can get to the console. I can't ping it from outside the host and the VM can't ping it's Def Gateway.
Hardware is 4 HP Gen 8 LFF with Quad port NIC's HP NC364T running ESXi 5 U1 with vCenter Server clustered.
Anyone experience this?
If I vmotion it to another host it comes back online. That's been our temporary solution.

Is it just me or is Microsoft Teams the most impossible application to run in a Non persistent disk environment. It absolutely clobbers CPU and memory at log on.

How regularly are we expected to pay for Fusion
Hi,
So I bought Fusion 8 about two years ago and used it maybe once or twice. It's really mostly a fallback to me for when something is unavailable on MacOS, which doesn't happen very often.
Now, Fusion 8 apparently stopped working. It doesn't recognize Bootcamp partitions anymore or seems to handle windows in any way. It seems that I will need to buy an update at 65% of the cost of the full version to get it working again.
When I bought Fusion I was not expecting it to stop working after a short period of time. Comparing features of Parallels to Fusion, I also did not think about inquiring about recurring costs to keep the software from working.
So here I go now: How regularly do users have to pay for updates/upgrades, in order for Fusion to keep working? Is this an annual thing?

Восстановление файлов vmfs и vmdk
Здравствуйте, Уважаемые форумчане!
Столкнулся с проблемой, скорее в моей голове!
В общем суть такая, из среды vCenter удалил по не знанию LUN, так как он по каким то причинам стал недоступным и монтироваться повторно отказался, после чего добавил заново.
Хотел поднять вм, которые были до этого, посмотрел, а диск (LUN, 15TB, RAID6, iscsi) полностью пустой, схватила паника (информация на 10TB, файловая шара), после чего презентовал напрямую в windows, и форматнул в NTFS, просканил R-STUDIO, не помогло, после чего начал искать информацию, по восстановлению, наковырял ссылку Если пропал VMFS раздел. - системный интегратор в Ростове-на-дону и Краснодаре – компания Парадигма, восстановил раздел VMFS, но данные до сих пор не могу найти, в редакторе HEX все забито 00, но меня терзают смутные сомнения, что можно было удалить безвозвратно информацию 10TB за 10 минут.
Подскажите пожалуйста, имеется ли способ восстановления? Вопрос жизни и смерти! Спасибо!!!

VMware HCX vMotion with proximity routing
Hello everyone,
I am having a tough time putting HCX proximity routing to work.
VMware support is insisting that it is not supported when both sites are on-premises both with local DLRs.
Have you guys ever heard about it?
Documentation doesn't say anything about it (so I assumed it was supported). But it does not work.
After a HCX vMotion, VM loses connectivity. It only works when I do bulk migrations.
