We have our K8s workload running on VSAN. I need to know when a particular. vmdk file was created.. i.e. specifically the age of a .vmdk file. These. vmdk files are attached/detached to multiple VMs and also shadow VMs, thus it's not possible to get the .vmdk age with a VM age.
Any ideas would help!

after updating VCSA from latest 6.7U1b to 6.7U2 the flex (flash) client didn't show any items. The HTML5 Client is working.
I tried: other computer, other browser, other vcenter login user, resetting cache,
I'm pleased for any hint from the community.

I am looking for help taking a working script and having it create a HTML report.
I found a script that LucD posted helping another poster gather cluster information which I have tweaked to gather the information I am looking for. The script works and will collect the needed information from all 3 of our vCenter Servers but I am struggling trying to get that information into a HTML report similar to what Alan has with vCheck5.
Below is the output from the script and have attached the script, WeeklyReport-VMwareClusterResourceSummary.ps1, and an example of what I am trying to archive, Weekly Report - VMware Cluster Resource Summary.htm.

Can the official backdoor used for dragging and dropping files be used to tell the guest to execute a command that you specify in the host command line? Ie something like:

I'm attempting to add a few hosts to our new vCSA 6.7, When I add the hosts to the Data Center, normal options are presented as I expected
but when I try to add the host directly to the cluster, I get a message "Hosts will enter maintenance mode before they are moved to the cluster. You might need to either power off or migrate powered on and suspended virtual machines." I would like to avoid MM as I have not had to do this in the past when I'm moved vCenters

Aside from the vCenter version the only difference is I'm using distributed switches on the new vCenter, where I am using standard switches on the old. I don't see any network migration options during the Add host operation. Am I missing something here?

Has anyone experienced not being able to add a network resource?
When I try to add a network, the list of port groups is empty.
When I had standard switch port groups, they would show up, but not distributed switch port groups.
The hosts and vCenter are version 6.0

I’ve succeeded to install the BDE 2.2 in my vsphere 6 environment. But I’m running into the bootstrap error while deploying a MapR 4.1 cluster. The error occurs on all nodes except the mysql node. The error message in the vsphere web client shows as following:
[2015-07-29T13:33:59.093+0000] Cannot bootstrap node test-Master-0.
Can't find any nodes which provide mapr_historyserver. Did any node provide mapr_historyserver? Or is the Chef Solr Server down?
SSH to this node and view the log file /var/chef/cache/chef-stacktrace.out, or run the command 'sudo chef-client' to view error messages.
PS : The Serengeti server has no Internet access. I configured a local YUM repository on a CentOS physical server on the same vLan as the cluster nodes.

I am running into this weird issue with blinking cursor rate. This is Windows 7 VMs.
I set the following on the gold image.
We set blinking cursor rate (Control Panel > Keyboard) down to third line from the left. Save the setting.
Also updated following registry key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Control Panel\Desktop]
"CursorBlinkRate"="0xffffffff"
"DisableCursorBlink"=dword:00000001
The setting works in gold image but once recomposed VMs does not. Blinking cursor rate is always set to FAST even if you update it on the VM.
Anybody out there ran into this issue...

I have a question regarding Supermicro TwinPro compatibility with VMware ESXi 6.7U2:
The HCL shows SYS-1029TP-DTR as supported, but not SYS-1028TP-DTR, which is one generation older. However, SYS-1028TP-DC0R is supported (with SAS3 intf)
The difference between the two are CPU/Socket and Storage system:
SYS-1028TP is one generation older (X10 series), supporting LGA 2011 socket (Xeon E5-26xx-V3/4 CPU), while SYS-1029TP is newer (X11 series), supporting LGA 3647 socket (gen2 Xeon Cascade Lake/Skylake CPU).
Since I only use the ESXlocal storage for IOS images and some scripts, I have no need for SAS in my setup, SATA will do (the VMs are running on a SAN). I don't need this overhead, not to mention the additional cost...
It is odd that the older gen requires SAS3 interface, while the newer gen is OK with straight SATA for compatibility with ESXi 6.7U2 (in fact, ANY ESXi from v5.5U2).
Is this an oversite? What am I missing?

I recently upgraded to the latest version of VMware Workstation (14.1.1) and am now encountering the following problem when trying to launch VM's that worked fine previously.
"VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard. Please visit http://www.vmware.com/go/turnoff_CG_DG for more details."
Problem is that I'm running Windows 10 Home and the Device/Credential Guard is not a feature of that version - it's in Windows 10 Enterprise.
VMware Workstation version: 14.1.1 build 7528167
Windows 10 version: Windows 10 Home - Version 1083 (build 17115.1)
As mentioned previously the VM's worked fine on the previous version of Workstation 14 on Windows 10 Home. The suggestions to turn off Device/Credential Guard for Windows 10 all relate to the Enterprise version and Hyper-V, which doesn't run on the Home version so the settings to change don't exist.
Appreciate any assistance or suggestions to resolve my problem.

I have a question about ressources allocation on ESXi hosts.
For example, I have 3 ESXi hosts with 12GB RAM each.
If I create a vCenter and add them into it, can I create a virtual machine with 24GB RAM (which she will really use) on one ESXi host ?
How a single ESXi host will gave the necessary memory that the VM want ?
We can't talk about DRS, right ?

We try to connect our VIO 5.1 as a endpoint to VRA 6.7. Its not in the support Matrix, but we have a statement from vmware that this combination is working.
We want to connect via a DEM worker and not set VRA as a Keystone Identity Provider as described in the VIO documentation.
We could connect other (native) openstack implementation without a problem, but with VIO we failed with the following error in iaas:

Has anybody a clue why they could not talk to each other?
So, when I try to SSO into the Orchestrator client from the :8281/vco/ page, it successfully redirects me to my vCenter SSO page, after a successful login, I get redirected to :8283/vco-controlcenter/saml/websso/sso with old Blue SSO screen, and an ${Message} and a button with the title ${backToLoginLabel}.
When I run a saml trace, I'm getting a http 401 error when trying to post the SAML payload to that same URL (vco-controlcenter/saml/websso/sso).
I rebuild my authentication to vCenter, but it didn't seem to have any impact.
Any suggestions?

Решил сделать шлюз Kerio на Хосте ESXi 6.7, столкнулся с проблемой, как сделать два виртуальных сетевых интерфейса чтобы один смотрел в WAN второй в LAN. На сервере где стоит ESXi - 4 железных сетевых интерфейса.
Что сделал:
Сделал виртуальный свитч для внешнего WAN, сделал портгрупп, сделал vmkernel ему назначил IP подсети к которой подключен маршрутизатор по которому приходит интернет.
Т.е. у меня счас два виртуальных свитча один для LAN , по умолчанию тот что был создан при создании хоста и подключен к портгрупп VM NETWORK и второй тот что я создал для шлюза.
Соответственно, подключил в железный интерфейс кабель от WAN. LAN тоже по умолчанию.
Но вот проблему не могу решить и понять как делать: когда захожу в ESXI на виртуальную машину шлюза Kerio , и открываю свойства сетевых адаптеров, т.е. их там два: в выборе подсетей (портгрупп) вижу только подсеть WM NETWORK, а подсеть WAN не вижу.
Может подскажите что делать.
