Hi team ,
I have configured NSX Edges syslog server to log-in-sight. I can see port 514 connection established in the Edge.
How can i verify Log-in-sight is receiving the logs . I search for Edge both in Dashboard and interactive analysis but cant find any logs coming from Edge .All i can see logs coming from NSX Manager but not directly from NSX Edge .
Please let me know if i am missing something .

I have a requirement to perform online migration of 100+ Powered-on VMs from one cluster to another without shared storage.
I know that we can do it through Web-Client, but is it possible using PowerCLI.
Can the below steps be done on powered-on VMs using PowerCLI script? Please help
Step 1: Select change both compute resource and storage
Step 2: Select the destination host/cluster
Step 3: Select the datastore
Step 4: Select the network
I have configured on /etc/fstab on both cells in that way:
x.x.x.x:/mnt/vcloud-director/data/transfer /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/data/transfer nfs defaults 2 2
but in KB VMware Knowledge Base there is recommendation for:
192.168.120.7:/nfs/vCDspace /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/data/transfer nfs intr 0 0
In my configuration i have this entry 2 2 not 0 0
If that can be problem ? shouls i reconfigure this ?
Hello there,
since some weeks I have massive problem with my Horizon setup.
Here are the facts:
- Horizon 7.7 Connection Server (7.7.0.11038474)
- Separate Horizon 7.7 Composer Server (7.7.0.11038293)
- vCenter Server 6.0 (5112527)
- Windows 10 Enterprise 1703 Template with Horizon 7.7 Agent and VMware Tools 10.0.9
- Nvidia Grid / Tesla M60 vCPUs
Since I migrated from Horizon 6 to 7.7 all my VMs will end soon or later in an "Agent unreachable" state. The VMs are up and running but when I try to connect via RDP I can only see the attached screen which I named "pre login screen". This stays for about 30 seconds, then RDP session closes. After a reboot the same VM works flawless...
Any hints what this can cause?
Best regards
Hey guys,
we are running Windows 10 Enterprise as stateless VDIs. Everytime someone logs in, the OneDriveSetup is running and uses a lot of cpu usage for around 30-50s.
We disabled the OneDrive Usage with a group policy, but the setup is still running everytime.
Windows Updates are disabled!

HI There
Is anyone out there running the folloiwng environment (or something similiar)
esxi 6.5 (5310538)
HPe c7000 with BL 460c Gen 9 blades
MSA 2040 (GL225R003) - 10k SAS Disks in RAID 5
2TB Volume creted on storage and presented to the esxi hosts via 10GB iSCSI
esxi configure to connect to storage via 10GB iSCSI (Using Software iSCSI - do not have an iSCSI adapter)
I created a test Windows 2012 VM with one CPU and 4GB RAM and a single 40GB disk.
I logon to the VM and I use diskspd.exe to stress test the environment and I get the results below.
Could you simply run this test and tell me what you get?
Could you also run performance monitor and tell me what you get for the Physical Disk counter "Average Disk sec/Transfer"
Performance monitor is bugging me as this counter has a vaule of 0.262 where Microsft says a good disk setup should return a vaule around 0.005

Hi,
We are using vRops 7 in our env, we need to make the vRops web portal accessible through 2 different networks, I've added a second NIC to appliance and assigned a static IP address to it, from the second network ping is fine toward the newly added IP, I tried to edit /etc/apache2/listen.conf as below:
Listen 80
<IfDefine SSL>
<IfDefine !NOSSL>
<IfModule mod_ssl.c>
Listen 192.168.10.10:443
Listen 172.16.4.10:443 (I added this line)
Listen 127.0.0.1:443
</IfModule>
</IfDefine>
but service web portal is not accessible through the new added IP address and after restarting server the listen.config back to previous state and new IP is deleted from the configuration.
I need to know this configuration is supported or not and what are the steps?
thanks in advance
Hi, I'm running Vmware 6.0. On my Vcenter Server Appliance I keep getting an alarm stating that /storage/log has less than 30% space available. I tried following the steps from this article, but I'm still at 81%. I'm not sure if I'm not doing something right. Or maybe someone could tell me if there is a specific directory where I could safely clear out some old logs? Thanks.
Hello All,
As the new HF has been just release ( next week) for Vra 7.5, i'm trying to apply it on my environnement since last frisday.
I correctly download it, check the hash , and upload it on my Master Vami Vra.
Since last Frisday the HF5 is running and looping indefinitely at the step " uninstall HF4".
I would like to know if someone has sucessfully install it recently and if someone knows how can i stop the task properly ? ( i don't find any process attached to "patch" name for example on my vra appliance )
We recently purchased 8 new HPE DL380 Gen10 servers. They came with two 10Gbe ports embedded on the motherboard and two 10Gbe ports on a PCI card. All of these use the Intel X710 controller. Before I purchased these servers I had no idea how many problems these particular nics have given people. Here is a sampling of issues:
Install ESXi 6.5 on R730 with Intel X710
https://lonesysadmin.net/2018/02/28/intel-x710-nics-are-crap/
http://www.v-strange.de/index.php/15-vmware/239-vsphere-6-5-with-intel-x710-network-adapter
I have two DAC cables hooked from this server to my Juniper switch. In the ESXi console I select both of these nics for my management network, give it an IP address, mask, gateway, and dns server. I reboot the host and during the boot process pings to the management interface start working. Once the host is up and running for about 30 seconds, the pings stop. If I remove one of the nics from the management network, pings start again. In other words, when two nics are connected for the management network, it will not work. I have upgraded the driver and firmware on the HPE Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 562SFP+ Adapter (it uses the Intel X710 controller) thinking it might help. We are now sitting at driver version 1.5.8 and firmware 10.2.5. The server is running HPE customized ESXi 6.5 Update 1
Do you think the problem I am experiencing (two nics for the management network will not work) is caused by this controller?
Are there other things I can check that might be causing this behavior?
I like to use either new version of PKS or CSE kubernetes with VMware.
PKS—i have vSphere licensing.
Cse kubernetes–i have vSphere along with vcloud director license.
Apart from vSphere, any other separate licensing is required for kubernetes.
How the licensing model works here from kubernetes?
Please let me know if anyone knows.
Thank you,
Manivel R
Hi everyone,
I have a VCSA 6.7 installed and want to join to domain Active Directory.
- When I try to join domain via UI, I got this error: Idm client exception: error trying to join ad, error code [40188]
- When I try to join domain via CLI, I got this error: Error: ERROR_MEMBER_NOT_IN_GROUP [code 0x00000529]
I found a lot of posts about failing to join vCenter to domain but none of them has the error code [40188] so I don't know how to resolve this problem.
Please help me with this. Thanks!
And when i try to install VMware-Tools, it just does nothing and afterwoods complains about "VMware Tools is not installed in this virtual machine". It is obscure, since i already installed some linux-systems on the ESXi server and succeeded in installing VMWare-Tools. Except for this machine. Maybe i need a special configuration?

Do you know where is that Private Key stored?
