UEM no ad mode different archive location for different groups
We currently use UEM in noad more because we found it works better in a multi domain deployment, The problem is I have some desktops that I want to have all archives discarded on logoff and there isn't an easy way to do it. Before switching to no ad mode, we used different gpos to set the archive to location for the different groups, but since no ad mode uses an xml thats specified on install there isn't an easy way to do that without using different config directories or parent images. Currently I have condition sets on all of the personalization settings but as new ones get added its easy to miss them.
Is there a way I'm not thinking of

Use media from Catalog in VCD
Hi
I am trying to import few OVFs into the VCD's catalog. These OVFs are sharing same media file. Is it possible to upload the media file in advance and then try to upload the OVFs? Will it speed up the process of importing the OVFs and creation of vAPP templates in the catalog?
Please confirm.
We are using VCD 8.20.

Bonjour,
En regardant sur les deux Esxi composant mon cluster, je remarque qu'une de mes banques de données présente un problème.
En effet, sur l'un de mes deux esxi, la capacité, le provisionnement et l'espace libre apparaissent à zero. Ce qui est étonnant car les bonnes données sont toujours présentes sur l'autre Esxi et sur le Vcenter.
Les VMs dépendantes de cette banque de données tournent toujours sans aucun problème apparent.
J'ai commencé à réanalyser les banques de données et là, la banque de donnée problématique à disparu.
Le périphérique ISCSI est bien détécté dans l'interface vmware.
je me suis connecté en SSH sur l'Esxi et le disque apparait bien dans /vmfs/devices/disks/, tout comme le volume VMFS dans /vmfs/volumes/
j'imagine donc que ma banque de donnée n'est pas démontée et toujours active sans pour autant qu'elle puisse être affichée dans ma liste depuis mon interface.
Quelqu'un est-il (elle) déjà tombé sur le problème ?

VMware Health Analyzer Issue
I have downloaded the application (.zip) file from the partner portal to do health check
The thing is that once opening the Java file in order to start processing. I am facing an issue with detecting the database port number. It only showing the application port number, which is 8080 only.
Hence, and trying to close the application and open it again take long long time to finish.

I found a bug in VMware Workstation 15 (latest version), my setup is simple:
Windows XP x64 VM with 3d acceleration enabled. I need 3d acceleration because:
Im just running a Game called "Silkroad Online" in this VM.
Wheneve I teleport into a certain ingame town Workstation just crashes the VM ( see below screenshot ).
I tested following:
running same setup on Win 7 x64, Win 10 LTSB x64, running on a dedicated nvidia gpu and an intel graphics card on 2 different PC and Notebook, it always happens in this town.
I can reproduce this error and Im willing to build a VM for an VMware engineer, please get in touch with me.
I can also attach a .dmp, is this safe here in a open place?

Strange Host Responsiveness Issues
- Recently upgraded hosts to 6.7 and vCenter to 6.7a
- Hosts are 'not responding' in vCenter Server
- Can ping
- Cannot acess web interface or login via SSH
- Can access it via console, but after you enter login information and press enter it freezes (cursor is still blinking)
- If you remove the host from the inventory and shut down a virtual machine on the host it brings everything back online and the host can be re-added to vCenter
- Four identical hosts, has happened on three of the four (twice on one)
- The host that had this issue twice now will not come back after trying the above method and is completely unresponsive at the console

shared folders are slow

I have running windows 7 on Workstation 14 pro on Centos 7.6.
I use it for powerful CAD (PTC Creo, ANSYS pre and postprocessing)
I know, there are some threads here dealing with this aim (folder sharing),
but I tried some proposed solutions without success, other threads are very old.
Working with mapped network drives runs very fine.
But now, I want to work outside my office without network
For this aim, I synced my shares using rsync to my host system (CentOS).
Then I tried to use them at my guest system windows via ,Folder Sharing'
It works, but very, very slowly. That is no solution for me.
At my windows system, Kaspersky is also running.
I don't want to stop it, because I have no virus scanner at linux,
and so, the windows system should scan my files.
I have seen, that the velocity of ,Folder Sharing' is a very old problem here.
Is there no solution until now?

VRA 7.5 remove provisioned VM from VRA
Hello,
I am looking for a way to remove a VM that was freshly provisioned threw VRA 7.5 from VRA's management. At this time I would like to avoid VRA having any management ability on the new VM's.
Following this article it looks like I can run a few commands in CloudClient to achieve this, however I am looking for anyone that may have done this before so I dont have to re-invent the wheel. Does anyone have a funcitonal way of doing this besides kicking off a powershell script in VRO after the VM is provisioned or perhaps a better way of doing this all together?

New Hosts
We put some hosts into a cluster and we can see the existing hosts but not the new ones. We added the new hosts about five days ago and I checked the new hosts had the correct permissions which are correct. Can you tell me how long it takes for the new hosts in a cluster to appear in Skyline inventory

installing macOS mojave 10.14 from dmg file on vmware
I'm a beginner in this so I'm not sure why this is happening. I have a macOS mojave 10.14 as dmg file, I'm trying to install it on VMWare workstation 15 so what I did was: 1- I converted the macOS 10.14.1 Mojave.dmg file to ISO using dmg2img. 2- I ran VMWare unlocker to choose Mac OS X system during VM creation. 3- I create new VM on VMWare and choose install operating system later. 4- I chose VM settings -> hardware -> CD/DVD (SATA) -> Use ISO image file and selectd the converted iso file.
VMware cant start the boot correctly and gives efi virtual disk unsuccessful and so on.

Dialog box scaling issue with VMware Workstation Pro 15 messages
When I check for updates or work with specific dialog boxes from VMware Workstation Pro 15, I get this scaling bug that extends the dialog box across my multi-monitor setup:
I am currently using a 4K monitor (200% scaling) and a 1080p monitor (100% scaling). The setting to automatically fix blurry apps is also disabled:
I am on the latest Windows 10 1809 update with the latest November cumulative update applied to this system. Whose at fault here? Microsoft? VMware?

Extending Virtual Hard Drive Causes AAG failover
We have several 3 node AAG multisite clusters. We are running esxi 6.5 ep 12 with vcenter 6.5 . We received a request to expand the DBdata vmdk for each of the 3 nodes in the cluster 1.7 T to 3.3T. 2 of the nodes were expanded without issue but the primary active node the exact second that the task to reconfigure the vm completed the AAG experienced a failover event.
This is the second time that this has occurred in the last 60 days. 2 separate AAG clusters on 4 separate esx clusters and 4 separate vcenter servers.
The disks on the cluster nodes are all Thick lazy zeroed except the OS drive which is Thick Eager zeroed.
Has anyone seen this issue or have any ideas on why the AAG would experience a failover during the resize operation?
