Our plan is to use SRM with vSphere Replication Appliance to protect our VMs, and replicating them to DR site.
I have question about protectig two node MS SQL Cluster with vSphere Replication and SRM.
Is it possibile to do so? if Yes what are required steps to make replica work fine in case of DR activation.
If this is not supported, what would be the best solution to ensure that SQL cluster is available on DR site?

I have three UAG running 3.3.1 that are being load balanced. Recently I've noticed that our UAG are averaging 90% CPU usage and regularly spike to 100% with only 100-140 sessions. The UAG have the standard configuration of 2 vCPU and 4 GB.
The Horizon 7 Configurations Maximums and documentation state that a single UAG can support up to 2,000 sessions.

In my search I found this in the documentation.
VMware recommends to use 4 vCPUs and 10GB RAM for Unified Access Gateway appliances to support maximum number of connections when used with Horizon 7.

I'm trying to understand if this is normal CPU usage or if we should be concerned and add more resources. It doesn't seem like adding 2 more vCPU and 6 GB of memory would allow for 1,900 more sessions at our current load. I'm tagging markbenson since I suspect he is the only one that knows.

Learning VMware and how to navigate, migrate, etc. I am trying to move a Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS to a new host. I get to 97% and then the following error presents.

after a recent windows 10 update (to v1809, on or around mar 8/9), bridged networking fails for both fedora 29 and centos 7. in both cases, the interfaces are marked up and the standard routes are present. but any attempt to ping something on the subnet or through the router fails with "host unreachable". i can ping another VM running within the same vmware process (e.g. F29 to RHEL7 or vice versa). i've restored the network to the default outside of vmware with the virtual network app. but it had no affect. thoughts/suggestions?
if i try to 'report a bug' from the vmware workstation 'support menu', i'm told that support has expired. this seems counter productive since it should be your benefit to hear about this. i'd also like search results to be limited to a particular (recent) product release.

I'm setting a new v Center instance and have noticed that my hostnames are replaced by the ESX management IPs of the hosts. I have already double checked that the machines are named properly in Confgure>Networking>TCP/IP config>Default>DNS. How do I fix this?

We have 8x ESXi hosts and vCenter Server for management.
Our system is build for studing (virtualization) enviroment at Vocational Educational Center.
We´d like to be able to access the web UI from outside networks directly.
For example students/teachers away from school network type in the browser https://vsphere.edu.domain.com and the access vCenter UI panel.
Like usually webservers need ports forwarded to them and some "holes" in firewall - i have done it thousands of times with different routers and servers on daily production and for testing purpouses.
So we opened up ports :80 and :443 in our firewall and did port forwarding to our vCenter Server - but as soon as we try to open the UI (HTML5) panel. Traffic drops and the addressbar shows the internal IP address of our vCenter Server.
Security is not an concerne here because the whole system is build for studing purposes.
Using VPN is also not an option because we dont need the extra hustle configuring hundres of PC´s VPN profiles and settings up "Help Desk" for VPN setups.
We just need to access vCenter HTML5 panel like any normal web service.
Note we used internal IP address instead of FQDN at the vCenter Installation.
Somehow vCenter Server web is not an typical web server...
Any tips?

Hello - I am running Mac High Sierra, 10.13.6, and a Windows 10 virtual environment. I have enabled sharing of the Mac desktop. On the Window's file explorer, I see the following two files within the shared Mac Desktop - .DS_Store and .localized.
I'm not sure of their purpose. Are they required? Is there a way to disable those from appearing?

Trying to report on VMs and show their associated vApp. Can't find the vApp field in vRops.
Has the vApp been added to vRops or are there any plans to add it?
After having upgraded to VMware Workstation 15 on my Windows 10x64 machine, each of my VMs shows a black flicker from time to time (once every 10 minutes or so).
This disturbance can be reproduced easily:
Simply start a VM with a Windows 10x64 OS installed and wait for about 10 seconds after having signed in to the guest OS. Then the first black flicker will occur:
After having opened a support ticket I'm having long discussions with VMware Support. They don't seem to be able to reproduce this issue.
So I'm asking here: Can anyone reproduce this issue?

Currently there is VCSA 6.7U1b but it still does not support being upgraded from VCSA 6.5U2e, any idea if the next update (i.e. 6.7U1c) will support such upgrade?
Unless it is a case of having to wait till 6.7U2 is available, but that will probably be quite a few months away...
Good afternoon.The term of our language language language SLL certificate for vCenter server and 6.5 expired 06.03.2019 and after connecting to the vCenter server and through the web interface I got an error like : Based on the current configuration, the SSL certificate of the authentication server was not trusted. VCenter is managed through the vCenter Server Appliance Web interface (version 6.5)I tried to generate a certificate using this article:https://youtu.be/oRo9V1YWSJM .But as a result of the set process, there were errors like Don't Update and an attempt to roll back to the previous settings and also Do'nt Update. As a result, now turning at https://vcenter.spbren.ru quite inaccessible page of the web interface.
We have our own internal certification authority and VMware vSphere Appliance Management Embeded PSD, which for some reason issued some other certificate.
What I tried to do:

Sorry for the long subject line, but I wanted to be clear on the issue.
I have deployed vCenter 6.7, and I have two HP DL360 Gen 10 boxes that I'm installing vSphere 6.7 on. These 2 boxes have hardware that is all on the HCL, and I'm using 4 SSDs in each of them for vSAN. This includes the 2 port 10Gb adapter that is direct connected between the two.
I have logged into each of the hosts and set the management interface to also carry the vSAN witness traffic. The vSan witness box is in a different VLAN and in a different Site, but the connection is definitely sufficient according to the documentation, it's got 100Mbps with rtt averaging around 10ms.
I just setup my vSAN cluster, and everything on the cluster in health is passing checks, however shortly after the build the witness server throws two warnings:
Host cannot communicate with one or more other nodes in the vSAN enabled cluster
Host with vSAN service enabled is not in the vCenter cluster
I can ping the witness server from either of the two nodes in the cluster, and from the same vlan I can ping back to the two servers, so I'm not sure why these warnings are showing up.
Also I can't put the hosts in the cluster in maintenance mode since the witness server can't communicate with them.
I thought it might be to do with routing, even though the default routes in my network should handle it. I created routes on the two esxi servers to direct their traffic to the witness host through the default gateway, but this had no effects.
I am able to export other types of vROPS content without any problem.
But it simply wont list any custom Dashboard i have made
I made sure the Dashboards I am trying to capture are shared with the 'everyone' group in vROPS
I am having this problem with both vROPS 6.7 and 7.0
Anyone have any ideas?
