Compliance Status in Update Manager window

vSphere 6.5

I have several patches (Meltdown, Spectre, Foreshadow) to apply to this ESXi 6.5 host. In host > Update Manager windows, I went through Stage Patches and selected all patches in all baselines. After the staging is done, Some of the patches still have Compliance Status = Missing instead of Staged. My question is: if a patch is obsoleted by a newer patch, will the obsoleted patch shows Missing under Compliance Status even after I've attempted to stage it?
