vRealize Orchestrator - Get ESXi Storage Device LUN ID
Friends, how are you?
I am working in a workflow and I need to get the LUN ID of a Storage Device based in the WWPN. In other words, I have the WWPN and need to use this info to ger the LUN ID in ESXi. This is necessary to form the name of the datastore. Anyone have idea of how to get this using vRealize Orchestrator?

NSX Controller node error when fetching disk latency alerts
I have one NSX Controller (out of 3) that reports an error "Controller not available for this operation" when trying to "fetch disk alerts". This is accessed from "networking and security" -> "installation" -> "management" tab, select controller node under "NSX Controller nodes" -> "Actions" -> "fetch disk alerts"
The other nodes report the "disk latency alerts" metrics when this action is performed on them.
Would anyone have suggestions how to further troubleshoot this issue or insight as to what might be the cause?
There are otherwise no errors or alerts or indications that anything is wrong.

New vSAN cluster not showing capacity
I re-build my vSAN cluster yesterday with 6.7u3 from U1. Now after I configure it with all the disks in disk groups the cluster is showing 0 capacity. I am sure I am missing something silly but can't figure it out.

VC_EVENTS endpoint has been temporarily disabled.
Skyline Engineering has disabled the VC_EVENTS endpoint on all customers’ Collectors however we are diligently working on a more comprehensive strategy that will change the frequency of the VC_EVENTS data collection to every 12 hours (instead of every 30 seconds) and/or identify customers with Datacenter specific selection mode to isolate only the affected customers disable their VC_EVENTS data collection component. The impact to customers Skyline rule execution is non-existent since we do not have rules yet that actually make use of the VC_EVENTS data that is collected however, since there could be an impact to CPU and memory usage of vCenter, we have decided to disable VC_EVENTS across the board as a precaution.

NSX Intelligence Installation succeeded but admin user cannot see anything
Hello Everyone!
I am trying to install and get some hands on experience with the brand new NSX-Intelligence, but i've ran into an issue.
After the successful appliance deployment, when i've open the Plan & Troubleshoot -> Discover & Take Action or Recommendation tabs, it says "The application server is unable to fulfill your request due to insufficient privileges. You do not have the privileges to access NSX Intelligence. (403 Forbidden)". I am trying to reach this view/menu with my default enterprise admin user (admin).
Actually i also started to debug the issue the time syncron is okay, the checksums of the images also correct, and also started to check the logs, on the web interface i can see the nsx-intelligence certificate at the system tab and there is the nsx-intelligence user too.
Is there anybody who had experienced something like this?

Unable to access Skyline Advisor
Hello,
I am no longer able to access Skyline advisor. Please let me know what I need do to access again since I am the Organization owner. I receive the following message when I try to access the site.
Unauthorized Access. Either your account is not registered with Skyline or you don't have necessary privilege to access Skyline Advisor.

cannot create snapshot on vms after putting one host in maintenance mode
I got a 4 node vsan and after putting one host in MM, I am unable to create a snapshot on the VM

Anyone have powercli code for populating the lockdown exception list? Enabling and disabling is pretty simple, but I am struggling with this list of exception users.

Remove old snapshots from txt file but only if older than X day
Hello guys,
I have this script to delete old snapshots, I use to put list of VM in a txt file and then run,
$logincred = Get-VICredentialStoreItem -Host 0.0.0.0 -File C:\Users\geme\my.xml
Connect-VIServer 0.0.0.0 -User $logincred.User -Password $logincred.Password
$vmlist = Get-Content C:\Users\geme\Desktop\delete1JUly.txt

Remove-Snapshot -Confirm:$false }
Disconnect-VIServer -Confirm:$false
Actually I would like to use this but delete snapshots only if is older than X days, this is to avoid to delete recently snapshot in VM where somebody created more than one.

VMWare Player e virtualizzazione schede pci
Ciao a tutti,
sono nuovo in VMWare ma non un beginner in campo di virtualizzazione di Sistemi Operativi.
Ho necessità di installare su Win10 un' emulazione di WindowsXP capace di riconoscere ed emulare una scheda PCI contenuta all interno del pc non compatibile in termini di drivers con Win10.
In sostanza devo installare XP proprio per rilevare la scheda PCI collegata all' interno.
E' una scheda PCI che gestisce un macchinario attraverso una connessione seriale.
Non posso usare altre schede seriali compatibili con Win10, ma solo quella che è compatibile con XP e di cui io ho i drivers.
Ho letto in giro che VMWare Player è in grado di rilevare la presenza di schede PCI nell emulatore, poi ovviamente i drivers per XP li installo come ho sempre fatto.
Mi confermate questa funzionalità?
Ho provato con altri emulatori e non riconoscono le schede PCI collegate, ne' ad esempio schede video PCI-EXPRESS collegate al pc. Nel mio caso non mi interessa tanto la VGA quanto appunto questa scheda seriale PCI particolare.

Errore sfcb-vmware_raw - IpmiIfcFruGetInv
Salve a tutti,
da quando ho centralizzato i log di vmware ho rilevato alcuni problemi tra cui dei log per i quali non mi sembra di trovare soluzioni in rete.
Questa è una coppia di log che ricevo all'incirca ogni ora.

Ho installato su due PC fisici 2 VMware Workstation e su questi ho installato 2 virtual server Win2012... Come faccio a fare colloquiare i due VMware Workstation??? In bridge??
Ho già provato ma riscontro problemi se devo joinare i due vserver a un dominio ...

Exchange_2016 DAG vmotion
Dear All,
We are having upcoming activity for Hardware Firmware upgrade and have a DAG setup also for exchange 2016. I am looking to understand/clarify if we can do vmotion of exchange node, OR this will cause a DB failover which is not needed.
because for two nodes, I need to do this 4 times:
- shift node 1 from physical host (perform firmware update)
-return node 1 to same physical host
- shift node 2 from physical host (perform firmware update
--return node 2 to same physical host
kindly share your experiences for this case for vmotion of exchange node part of DAG

Skyline collector will not start after upgrading from version 2.0 to 2.3
Receive error: ERROR [qtp1852661033-14] c.v.f.c.c.SkylineCollector [SkylineCollector.java:245] [] Couldn't download manifests. Collector can't be started. Returning to state: STATE_STOPPED
Networking was missing and had to be reset. Above error was received after restart and accessing the collector.

Hi,
I'm trying to install Skyline-Appliance-2.2.0.0-14617436_OVF10.ova ins a vcenter 6.7.0 Vcenter but im getting this error:

I tried in IE, Chrome and Firefox but i always got the same error.
Do you have any idea which is the problem?

Socket Error 10055: An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full.
We are operating some guest OS' (Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard ) on ESXi 5.5U1, and about 150 .NET applications are working on each guest OS.
But, the following error occured intermittently when the .NET application communicate another client.
"An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full."
So, we took actions below, but all failed.
a. TCP parameter modification
