Converter standalone fails P2V Linux server 5.7
Hi Guys,
I am trying to virtualize Linux server, details below
Physical Linux Server: HP DL360G7
OS: RHEL release 5.7 (Tikanga)
IP Address: 10.88.0.100
It's been migrated to virtual environment, details below
vCenter server: 10.30.0.100
vCenter standalone server: 10.0.30.101
Firewall rules allow 10.0.33.101 to connect to port 22 on 10.88.0.100
I started the P2V process and it did started creating VM on virtual infrastructure. However, the progress kept sitting on 1%
By logging on the web interface of the virtual machine that shows on target vcenter server, it looks like;
Based on going through different forums, I configured the static IPv4 address to be on 10.88.0.* network. The physical server was able to communicate with the IP address assigned to this temp machine.
However with more than an hour in this process, it still shows progress as 1%.
Any ideas of what could be missing here or is this normal behaviour??

Enabling legacy OpenGL support in Fusion 11
"No 3D Support is available from the Host - The 3D features of the virtual machine will be disabled" error shows up when I launch my bootcamp VM in Fusion 11.
I'll admit my setup is unusual: a Mac Pro tower with an Nvidia graphics card (running Nvidia's web drivers) and Sierra 10.12.6
In Fusion 10, adding this line to the VMX file would switch it to legacy OpenGL mode and provide basic 3D support, but it appears to no longer work in Fusion 11, or at least not with my setup.
mks.enableMTLRenderer = "0"
Setting it to 1 or 0 doesn't matter now. The same error message always appears.
I do plan to upgrade to Mojave when Nvidia releases a graphics driver for it, but in the meantime is there any way to carry on with legacy OpenGL mode?

Test fails for Infra Server and VDI server
Hi,
I've deployed View Planner 4 but when I add the Infra Server (vCenter Server 6.7 U1), I get the following error when I test: Failed to find VM's {}
When I add and test the VDI Server (Connection Server, Horizon 7.7), I get the error: "Something went wrong".
All servers are on the same subnet/VLAN. Any ideas what why it's doing that?

VMFS не видит содержимое папки ВМ на СХД
Добрый день, уважаемые форумчане
случилась следующая проблема. На СХД закончилось место, при этом на VMFS свободное место показывает что есть. При этом одна из ВМ встала в паузу с ошибкой о нехватке дискового пространства (There is no more space for virtual disk '*.vmdk'). После перезагрузки хостов в кластере статус у ВМ поменялся на inaccesible, а содержимое папки с ВМ пропало.
Можно ли как-то вернуть содержимое папки с ВМ?

Долгий запуск виртуальной машины
Доброго времени суток.
Используется vmware vsphere 6.5. По некоторым причинам была необходимость копирования файлов виртуальной машины на внешний жесткий диск, который был отформатирован в vmfs5. При этом файлы на датасторе(vmfs6) были удалены. Затем файлы ВМ были обратно перенесены на датастор. После этих манипуляций ВМ при запуске долго висит в статусе 10%, и гостевая ОС Windows server 2016 перестала загружаться (уходит в восстановление системы). На скринах представлены содержимое папки ВМ и task в момент запуска.

No Network Adapter detected
Hello,
I tried to install The VMWare ESXi 6.7U2 using Virtualbox and on a bare metal hard drive. Both the time I received the same message.
I am new to VMWare ESXi and I want to prepare for the certification/examination.
Please guide me through it. I have also applied for 60 days trial version of the ESXi and downloaded the same.
I need the support as soon as possible so that I can take the benefit of 60 days trial and can utilize the system in a very well manner.
I have also seen the other posts in the knowledge base but I could hardly understand it.
Please specify the easy steps.

How to find out the last time a user logged into vCD?
Hi,
I am trying to find out an easy way to track the last time a user logged into vCD. I'd like to be able to generate a usage report. I looked around the vCD Postgres database, and I can find a way to see active users in the system, but I could find a table where possible information is saved as to when the last time a user logged in.
Is there a way to get this info? Please let me know. Thanks.

I want to use enthernet on my main os and phone internet through usb port on all my 5 guests
I wanted to use ethernet on my main host, and use wifi hotspot through my vms but
figured out its not possible.
Is it possible to use ethernet on my main host and use usb port on the guests
through my mobile network to access internet on them?

MacのSSDを容量の多いものに交換します。
OSはHi SierraまたはMojaveの予定なので、ファイルシステムはAPFSを利用します。
APFS上に既存のバーチャルマシンファイルを移動（コピー）し、稼働させることはできますでしょうか？

Windows NT 3.1 Problems
Hello.
I am trying to install Windows NT 3.1. The text mode setup was completed succesfully, but after restart I'm getting a BSOD: INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. And a bunch of other memory addresses because it's early NT.

ESXI - AMD Threadripper Testing - Having Issues.
Hi All,
I have been playing with a new Threadripper 1950X build and was thinking about seeing if I could get ESXi working. So far I haven't been having much luck and my build keeps getting stuck at the following place:

I have tried all kinds from disabling all sata ports, disabling SMT, disabling USB3 and generally messing about with stuff in the bios but as yet I simply can't get it past this loading screen. I realise that this chip is not on the supported chips list yet and that its a long shot but figured if anybody would know it would be the good people in here.
Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated. I'm also fairly noob so go easy on me lads.

Virtual Machine is showing as Invalid (vSphere 5.1)
I understand that vSphere 5.1 is EOL and we are moving on to 6.7. However, I have a strange issue that one of our virtual machines is showing as "Invalid" with no descriptions. It seems like it is unable to read the vmx file at all. The server is up and running which is good. But, there are no controls available like; "Edit settings" etc.
I've tried VMware Knowledge Base with no luck. All ESXi hosts have been rebooted. Although the VM is powered On, still it gives option to power on and fails if I try to do so.
Any suggestions please..
I am wondering if V2V will fix this without any impact.
PS: There are no backups for this VM.

VMware Integrated Containers without public network
Hi everybody,
I am currently having some difficulties in deploying isolated VCH setup. Its been two days and I still cant get it to work, please help!!
These are the port groups and logical switches I am using
DevelopmentPG - Isolated VLAN PortGroup, no gateway (developers reside in this VLAN)
ContainerBridgeLS - Logical Switch, no gateway
FakePublicLS - Logical Switch, no gateway
ManagementPG - Management VLAN PortGroup, routable
VIC 1.5.2 Appliance is installed and connected to ManagementPG.
The appliance is registered with vCenter which is also connected to the ManagementPG.
There is no internet available.
The network settings used to create the VCH are as follows:
Bridge Network -> ContainerBridgeLS (172.12.0.0/12)
Public Network -> FakePublicLS (DHCP)
Client Network -> DevelopmentPG (10.0.25.2/16)
Management Network -> ManagementPG(100.0.25.2/24)
The VCH deploys, but when you look at the status for DockerAPI and VCH Admin Portal, the status is "waiting...". The VCH can be reached from the management network as well as from the Developer network via the isolated segment. But when you try to add the VCH(100.0.25.2) into the VIC appliance(100.0.25.3), it says connected refused.
The only setup that I tried working was if I only set the management network on the mandatory public network and bridge network as ContainerBridgeLS with the other optional settings unfilled. I will be able to access the VCH portal, as well as add it into VIC. But then the restriction is that developers are not allowed to access via the ManagementPG.
Is there anything wrong with this setup? or is there any workarounds?

purple screen Coredump to disk
Hello, I send you a message because I have a problem with my configuration.
I have 9 hard drives (given) and 2 raid 1.
I have a Raid 1 Samsung SSD 128GB (ESXI) and a RAID 1 Samsung 512 GB from my controller board.
I have already seen this purple screen but I just put it back in operation since a move. In less than 24 hours of operation, an error message reappears. I saw it last year. Sometimes I rarely see it (2 times in 6 months and the very fast).
The naa.600508e0000000008b58c955c557740a is the name of the raid of my ESXI installation.
Can you help me understand what's going on? Is this a problem on the ESXI raid? Or is it a fault on an SSD?

Storage vMotion - Traffic Flow and MTU
Hi Everyone,
I am in the process of migrating from one storage array to another storage array but would like to know about the traffic flow for Storage vMotion and whether I am likely to run into issues with different MTU settings for each of the arrays.
Array 1 vendor recommendation is to use jumbo frames (9000) and array 2 vendor recommendation is to leave at default (1500). The arrays are on different iSCSI subnets with hosts having access to datastores on both arrays but no routing from one array directly to the other.
Configuration is as below for vmks for connectivity to both arrays.
Array 1
vmk1 (9000 MTU) --> vswitch (9000 MTU) --> Switch (9000 MTU) --> Array (9000 MTU)
Array 2
vmk2 (1500 MTU) --> vSwitch (1500 MTU) --> Switch (1500 MTU) --> Array (1500 MTU)
So in terms of connectivity from Host to each array the MTU settings are configured end to end correctly with matching MTU all the way through.
My question lies around what happens when I initiate a storage vmotion of a virtual machine that is currently on a datastore on array 1 and needs to be migrated to a datastore on array 2. Will the esxi host be pulling data in 9000 chunks and trying to send those 9000 chunks down the 1500 vmk to array 2?
Any help is much appreciated
