Access Point 2.5 - HTML5 not working

$

Hi there,

Been trying the new Access Point 2.5 with both Horizon 6.2 and Horizon 7, and am not able to use the HTML5 Web client.

The error is "Failed to connect to the Connection Server." after entering my credentials. Server sends a code 500, "Internal Server Error".

I deployed it using the "VMware Access Point Deployment Utility" fling.

Downgrading to 2.0 makes everything work for Horizon 6.2, but does not work for Horizon 7 (unsupported).

Did anyone had the same issue? If Access Point 2.5 is working for you, can you share how you deployed it?

Thanks

im trying to open a pdf attachment from an outlook mail message in the windows xp guest within fusion.  i have Preview as my default program to open pdfs in my mac. i get the following message in outlook - file is not in a shared folder with the host and cannot be opened by the host? it is trying to access the local settings folder within the guest.

ive tried to look up setting program defaults within the guest but it just takes me to adding programs. looked up sharing issues and i read that someone is using smb to share guest folders over a network.  i am sharing mac folders fine through the settings tab in fusion.

can anyone suggest what might be going on here and how to fix it.  i would like preview to open the pdf when i click on the attachment in an outlook email.

thanks

ThinApp 5.2.2 Win10 slow Application startup

Hi,

I've tried the new 5.2.2 version that should resolve this trouble but the start up delay seems to be the same as with 5.2.1.

I captured the application both in Win7 and Win10 with same results. So is there any "tricks" to enable a "quick" start up on Win10 with 5.2.2?

Upgrade 5.5 to U3 and Datastore error

$

I upgraded one of my esxi hosts from 5.5 U2 to U3 and after the host upgrade it disconnected from vcenter which is 5.5 U3 as well. The error message states:

Datastore conflicts with an existing datastore in the datacenter that has the same URL but is backed by different physical storage.

After researching this it appears that this is a bug in 5.5. I have reviewed the following KB:

Upgrading to VMware vCenter Server 5.1 or 5.5 fails with error: Datastore '<datastore>' conflicts with an existing…

The vml and naa info is the same between the upgraded host and a current host. It states to remove the host from vcenter and then re-add the host, but the option to remove the host is grayed out. I can hit the connect button which produces the error above and then asks for credentials. I have not followed through with entering the credentials since I am not sure it is safe to go ahead with this step. Anyone else experience this?

Pool Takes Extra Long to Recompose

My view 7.0.1 environment has been good for a while but recently stuff has been happening.  currently have a case open with support related to No Desktops available when in fact there are plenty.  I do however have a small work-a-round for that.  Since that issue i've been doing a lot of recompose on my pools and now have another odd things happening when i recompose. During the recompose of a desktop, or 20, they seem to get stuck in the "shutdown" state for about 5 to 10 minutes everytme the desktop needs to reboot.  It eventually does recompose but it takes forever.  Anyone ever see an issue like this?  Any input or comments are welcome.  thanks.

Agent Unreachable Status for VDI Clients

Hey guys,

We have an automated pool of 150 desktops which get refreshed on logoff OR after being disconnected for >60 minutes. I've noticed that we have been gradually getting more and more "Agent Unreachable" status's for our VDI desktops over a period of 4 - 6 hours until I go in, remove the VM's from disk and let provisioning re-provision the VM's to reset them. Doing a desktop reset does not fix the issue. I have made sure that the VM's are receiving IP addresses from DHCP and they are. We are not running out of addresses since these 150 desktops have 250 IP addresses in the DHCP scope with 15 minute lease times.

We are running VMware View 5.2. If any more information is needed, just ask.

NSX and VMware tools

We are about to upgrade our underlying vSphere infrastructure that is protected by NSX w / DFW.

-  we are moving from vCenter \ vSPhere 5.5 u3a to 6.02,   NSX is already at 6.2.4.

-  We can't do this all in one window, it must be staggered

-  the order is vCenter first, then hosts, then VMtools in VMs, then VM vHardware.

-  I want to be certain that after we upgrade vCenter and the hosts, that we won't have any issues with out of date VMtools and NSX

When I accessed the VMware Solution Compatibility matrix, I run a query:   NSX 6.2.4  against all VMtools versions, see screen shot below..

- I don't see any mention of OVT, and am still uncertain if we can use them or if we must stick to native VMtools on ESXi

-  I get an output of compatible versions that doesn't make sense to me, the standard VMtools that accompany vSphere 6.02 is none of the below, its 10.0.6:

Can someone shed led on this for me?   It doesn't seem right to me at all since we have NSX 6.2.4 running now against 5.5 u3a with VMtools at "vmx-10"

So, I need someone to provide expertise:

1)  Can I use OVT tools with VMs protected by NSX DFW?

2)  Will I have any issues with NSX compatibility after upgrading VMtools to 10.0.6 after we upgrade to vSPhere 6.02?

Here is a screen shot from the solution compatibility guide:

Does anyone know of a workaround or how to deploy OVF/OVA files in Web Client 6.5?  When trying to it states to log in to a Web Client 6.5.0.0 but I am.  Major issue releasing a product where basic functionality is severely impaired like OVF deployment.  Hope this is fixed ASAP.

HCIbench - IP Assignment Failed when running test

I've deployed the HCIbench ova on my VSAN, following the instructions in the User Guide. I logged into the web interface and setup a test, generated a parameter file, downloaded / uploaded vdbench, saved the config, and successfully validated the config. But the test fails with IP errors:

Deployment Started.

IP Assignment Failed, Deleting VMs If Deployed...

VMs Deleted

Testing Failed, For Details Please Find Logs in /opt/automation/logs

Please Cancel And Re-Run The Testing

When I look at the appliance in vSphere, I see that it has 2 IP's; one is correct for our network, and the other is not: 192.168.0.1.  I can obviously web into the appliance, so I know the LAN IP is working. I guess maybe I don't understand this part of the guide:

"...map the “Public Network” to the network which the HCIBench will be accessed through; if the network prepared for Vdbench Guest VM doesn’t have DHCP service, map the “Private Network” to the same network, otherwise just ignore the “Private Network”."

Hello everyone,

I have been pulling my hair out to get my vsan health green with this AHCI controller compatibility. I'm using two Supermicro 5019S-MR 1U servers updated to the latest bios, I have also tried to disable the native AHCI driver and let it use the SATA AHCI with the correct version that is compatible with the VSAN list but it still gives me the warning. I am hoping someone can see something I don't. I have inputed the screen shots below. ANY guidance on this issue is greatly appreciated!vsan.pngvsan2.png

VMware Fusion 3.1.4 Mac OS / 仮想マシンWindows 起動モード?

こんにちは。

ホスト : Max OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard ) 32bit

Unable to Select VDP External Proxy Host

We have recently deployed qty(2) VDP appliances and loaded the patch so they are accessible in the vCenter web client. However, we also need to deploy some external proxies to backup some VMs via Hot-Add. However, after logging into the configuration portal for the VDP appliance and selecting "Add external proxy", the first page displaying Host and Storage contains blank drop down menus with no hosts available to select. I couldn't find any posts about this, any ideas?

This is VDP version 6.1.2, vCenter 6.0U2 and a mix of ESX 5.5/6.0. I did redeploy an appliance to be on the same subnet as vCenter, with similar results.

Pass-through USB controller stops working after 10 seconds of inactivity

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with ESXi 6.5 when I pass-through an Intel 9 series USB controller to a Windows 10 VM. My mouse and keyboard stop working if left alone for what seems to be 10 seconds. I then see this in the log:

2017-01-07T00:31:33.995Z| vcpu-3| I125: PCIPassthru: 0000:00:1d.0 : barSize: 1024 is not pgsize multiple

I actually see that many times in the log before things stop working but always a final one at the 10 second mark after letting go of my mouse. If I keep moving the mouse it'll keep living.

Here's more from the log which relates to the controller:

Details of the VM:

Hardware version 13

EFI boot

All defaults other than CPU set to all for 4 cores and 4 cores per socket, removed SATA controller, and added PCI device (my USB controller pass-through).

Windows 10 Pro x64

Tried with and without vmware tools installed.

Device manager shows controllers and devices without any errors at any point.

Details of the host:

ASUS Z97M-Plus

Intel Core i5-4690K (3.5Ghz, 4 cores)

16GB DDR3 @ 2133mhz

Samsung 840 PRO 128GB SSD (using ESXi legacy AHCI drivers since the native drivers are buggy/slow)

9 Series Chipset Family USB EHCI Controllers

I've also tried using ESXi's vmkusb driver so that it reverts to the legacy driver instead, but it makes no difference.

Any help is much appreciated!! This is for a gaming VM setup and I have no room to try other controllers, either.
