Windows 10 Boot Camp Virtualization with VMware Fusion 8

I have a new MacBook pro and one copy of Windows 10. I have 2 options that I need clarification on.

Option 1: Set VMware Fusion to run Windows from the Boot Camp partition:

  1. I'm wondering if I use boot camp to run windows 10 natively and also use VMware Fusion to create a virtual machine directly from that boot camp partition, will that require 2 windows 10 licenses? Since VMware is running directly from that boot camp partition, it shouldn't right? I need to know before I install windows 10 on boot camp since I only have 1 license.
  2. Also, if I use VMware to run windows 10 directly from the boot camp partition, are there any limitations, performance drawbacks, etc compared to just using VMware and windows 10? I know that when I do that with Parallels, it will have some limitations.

Parallels Limitations for boot camp virtualization:

      • It can't be paused.
      • It can't be saved as a snapshot.
      • It can't run in Safe Mode.
      • It can't be compressed.

Option 2: Import Windows and your data from Boot Camp into VMware Fusion:

  1. I'm also wondering if I use VMware Fusion to import the boot camp partition to create a new virtual machine, does this require 2 windows 10 licenses?
  2. This shouldn't have any performance drawbacks or limitations as it is just using VMware Fusion how it should be, right?

Thanks!
