Changing LUN ID on UNITY SAN and how will it affect VMware hosts

I have 4x VMware V6.0 hosts and found that the various LUNs on our UNITY SAN are presented to the hosts with differing LUN IDs, so, for example, LUN "Datastore01" is presented to VMware hosts 01 & 03 as LUN ID 1 and to VMware hosts 02 & 04 as LUN ID 2. I wanted to ask if I can simply change the LUN ID of each LUN from the SAN and will this flow thru to the host automatically or do I have to remove the LUN from the host, change the LUN ID, then add the LUN back to the host?
