I recently launched VMWare Workstation 12 and was notified of an upgrade. I've experienced major performance degredation since moving to v12 and saw that performance improvements were made. So I downloaded the upgrade and ran the installer...
My VMware installation was successfully removed.
The new installation would fail right at the very end and then rollback. I've tried this multiple times and have gotten multiple results. First, some data:
PC: Windows 7 and is up to date as of Apr-19-2017; have ran "sfc /scannow" and no issues; have deleted all VMWare registry entries; have "msiexec /unregster & msiexec /register"; have verify the file permissions on "program files (x86) allow full control to system; have launched the installer as an admin
Errors encountered: error 1603; failed to install hcmon driver. These two tend to toggle upon each installation.
I'm at a loss. I've researched a significant amount of help online from vmware and microsoft and none of the suggestions help. Perhaps somebody could help me, please.
