help with touchpad (scrolling + middle click) for RHEL.7/CentOS.7 on Dell Precision m5510

I have a dell precision M5510 running vmware Fusion 12 (fully up to date).  I installed RHEL 7.3 as a guest.  The host os is windows 10, fully up to date.

The laptop has a synaptics touchpad.  I cannot enable middle click for copy paste nor can i one or two finger scroll with the touch pad.  I CAN, however, two finger scroll right/left.

I have read a bit in the community about this issue, but nothing seems to work.

Here is the output of xinput:

Virtual core pointer               id=2    [master pointer  (3)]
⎜   ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer         id=4    [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ VMware VMware Virtual USB Mouse    id=7    [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ VirtualPS/2 VMware VMMouse         id=9    [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ VirtualPS/2 VMware VMMouse         id=10    [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard              id=3    [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard        id=5    [slave  keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button                       id=6    [slave  keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard       id=8    [slave  keyboard (3)]

I see no Errors in the Xorg log and I have no xorg.conf.

Under windows, I was seeing two touchpad devices, one that had an error.  I've removed that device, but that hasn't helped.

I think it might be an issue that there are two VMMouse devices listed by xinput.

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated!
