Cannot copy files from guest to host

I am unable to copy any files from my vm(windows 10) to my host computer(windows 8). I was able to do so about 2 weeks ago but for some reason I cannot now. It says,

Cannot write to local file.

Canceling the file copy operation.

I have re-installed vmware tools, I have disabled and re-enabled all settings that allow you to share file between the host and guest but nothing works. I cannot get anything off of my vm and onto my main computer.

I am using VmWare Workstation 12 Pro, version 12.5.2
