I've downloaded the evaluation version of ESXi for testing and educational purposes, and am attempting to install it from DVD on rather old hardware. At first, the installer hung on "Initializing IOV". I determined this was because my CPU didn't support VT-d, so added the boot option "noIOMMU". Then I got hung on this message, which I'm not sure is the real problem. Of course the storage location is non-persistent; it's loading from a DVD.
So, is this message the real reason the install is hanging? If not, how do I figure out what the real problem is?
