So, we build a lot of on-premises servers and have been using virtualization with ESXi for years. However the raid consoles through ESXi are terrible. Adaptec and LSI have been bought and sold about a trillion times by now. We have used NAS units, but we also like to use NAS units like a Synology for backups, so then do we sell them 2 NAS units? That raises the cost.
We can only put so much on NVME cards and even then we want that to replicate to something.
Is their a raid card or storage solution that would be comparable in price to a 8-drive LSI? or is ESXi just not meant for SMB without a massive EMC SAN? Because we don't have any clients that would even make enough money to afford anything sold by EMC. I've bought luxury homes for less money.
