Hi,
I'm writing a software that maps the layer 2 topology. In some scenarios, we have VMware products bridging VMs on existing network interfaces. Since the behavior of the bridge mostly resembles a hub+media bridge rather than an ethernet switch (like the bridge interface does), it changes the topology expectations. I'd like to be able to detect if one or more VMs are in bridged mode on a given interface.
If there is a way to find out, I'd like to patch OpenLLDP and my own LLTD implementation to notify them of the updated specs.
Are there any VMware gurus that can help me out here?
Thanks & regards,
Răzvan
