We have a vcenter 5.0 up2 windows server 2008 R2. Lately we decided to upgrade to ver 5.5 , to a new windows server for a clean installation . The new server is ready , vcenter 5.5 was installed ( fresh install – no hosts ) and we want to plan host migration , one-by-one to new vcenter.
Due to the distributed switches that exist at vcenter 5.0 clusters , we would like to access the old vcenter with the new web client 5.5 in order to export the dvs config and add it to new vcenter.
And here comes the problems…. I cannot register old vcenter to web client. After searching I found out that /admin-app does not exist at 5.5 , so how can we run the registration? Just to export the dvs info (we have 9 clusters at prod – so 9 d switches)…, nothing more.
Any help-advice would be very helpful.
