Pros?? Cons?? of using SD chips/disks instead of HDDs for ESXi install??

I'm hopefully getting new servers and hopefully they will be HP Proliant DL360 G9 servers, which have two SD card chip slots wherein I could put SD cards to install ESXi (HP custom install).

Wondering if this is a good thing to do...so far as I know the SD cards can only be used to install ESXi, local storage is not possible/allowed on the SD cards.

Also what kind SD cards should be used?? How big should the cards be??

Do SD cards last a long time??

Are they are reliable as HDDs?? (I know they are cheaper, HP marks everything up a lot.)

What about logs and such that might could be written to local storage??

Thank you, Tom
