Hi,
I'm trying to install VMWare vSphere ESXi v5.5 on a machine I have previously used as a Windows 2008 server. Fairly well-spec'd (core i5, 8Gb, 3.5TB space etc.) but it is just a generic machine with an ASUS microATX motherboard and so on. I'm using an external USB DVD drive.
It loads (or appears to load) GRUNB then fails with an "Error 22". When I changed the BIOS settings to AHCI that error changed to "Error 21".
I've been trying to eliminate possible issues:
- Tested the disk and USB drive on a core i3 laptop [AOK]
- Checked that hardware virtualisation is enabled in the system BIOS [YES]
- Tried vSphere 5.1 [SAME ERRORS]
Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this issue?
Thx
Keke
