VM 2008R2 on ESX free 5.1 too slow

Hi everyone, first of all, I'm sorry for my english, I try my best.

I have this issue that drive me crazy.

Environment, ESX 5.1.0 1065491 free on server HP (Xeon Quad - 16 GB ram - 2 internal HD for repository and backup - SAN iSCSI on dedicated Gigabit LAN with 4 HD RAID 5), everything was installed this spring.

On this server runs:

- Ubuntu 12.04 mail server

- openfiler (only test machine)

- W2008 R2 Secondary DC + SQL server

- W2003 R2 Primary DC (imported from a physical server)

The only vm with problems is the 2008, which became suddenly too slow to work: impossible to work in rdp/console, more than a hour to start and get desktop work, ecc

I tried to ping at the same time the ip of all the machine and the esx from a pc on the network external from the esx and every servers respond in less than 1 ms except 2008, which lose about 50% of packet and respond with other than 300 ms at the best.

I already tried to install a new 2008R2 (after different tests), shutdown the old one, but I have similar problems: I only installed OS and vmware tools but the system seems to work really bad. It starts in a few minutes, apparently, but when I first start an application it takes a lot of time to make me see the window, both with console or rdp, and sometimes no windows appears at all. The task manager works fine, it's update and running and shows me a little cpu and memory occupation, but...

For istance, I launch IE and after 3 minutes something appears on the screen.

During all this time the other servers run without problem.

Onestly, I am in big troubles and with no idea how to solve.

I have other esx with 2008r2 installed (both, 5.0 and 5.1) but none seem to have this issue (for now).

Thank you for any help or advice.

S
