I have a mid 2011 Macbook Pro, 2.2Ghz Intel Core I7, 8 Gig Ram with a 7200 RPM hard drive. When I had Fusion 5 I added an external Thunderbolt SSD in hopes of increasing the performance of my VM's. I often run 3 or 4 versions of windows at once. This proved to be a great investment and things were speedy even when running numerous guest os instances at once. However, since upgrading to Fusion 6, under Mavericks, things are DISMAL. When switching to a VM the mouse moves around but is unresponsive, applications are sluggish and Fusion frequently beach balls. Fusion is installed on the hard drive, the VM files are all on the SSD.
I can't find any settings or anything to improve performance - so I'm looking for tips or for things I could look at to speed things up. I've taken to pausing all but the VM I am working with but even then things often slow to a crawl. I can do anything I want on the Mac and it's fast - and the CPU usage is hardly noticeable.
I'm open to any suggestions.
