Present the same VMFS Datastore to multiple vSphere hosts in different vSphere Clusters for running production Virtual Machines?

Hi,

Is there any issue in presenting the same VMFS Datastore (FC SAN LUN) to different vsphere hosts, which are all in different vSphere clusters but in the same Data Center), especially for use with production VMs?

e.g. if vpshere host-1 and host-2 are part of vSphere Cluster-A, and vsphere host-3 and host-4 are part of vpshere Cluster-B. Is it safe to present DataStore1 (FC SAN LUN) to all 4 hosts (which are in two different clusters) and safely run VMs on that datastore from the different hosts without the fear of corruption?

Normally we only present the same VMFS datastores (FC SAN LUNs) to vsphere hosts in the SAME vSphere Cluster.

We avoid presenting the same LUN to different vSphere clusters, based on fears of data corruption if the VMFS file locking doesnt work correctly when  different HA/DRS clusters are accessing the same VMFS datastore.

Thanks
