I'm trying to install vSphere Replication v5.1. I'm doing this without SRM, but just the OVF appliance(s). Currently we have 8 hosts spread out between two clusters. We have one vCenter controlling all of this, and everything is listed under one Data Center. The second cluster is in our DR location and has different storage mapped to it. I'm trying to use vSphere Replication as a means of keeping our important VM's replicated to our DR center in case of a disaster. Is this possible to do in the configuration we are in now?
I'm having a hard time getting this to work. I deployed two Replication OVF appliances and I'm getting stuck trying to actually replicate a VM. It gives me an error that the Data Object is not found. I figured I needed to "Connect" the local site to the remote site, but since it's all once vCenter install, I get an error stating it can't connect to itself.
Is what I'm trying to do possible to do? If not, could you let me know what I would have to change to make this work properly. Thanks.
