Hi,
I'm running VMware Workstation 10 on my windows server 2008 R2 SP1. I have one VM running, this is an Expenology machine. This is a virtualized Synology DSM.
The host (Win 2008) is set up to go to sleep after a certain time. I can easilly wake the host by ping or RDP or something else.
What I'm trying to achieve is that when I ping or contact the VM (DSM), the host wakes up. This isn't the case currently..
The network adapter is set to bridged.
I tested this same setup on my other desktop. This is WIndows 7 running a DSM in Workstation 10. Here everything worked great.
The desktop wakes up when I contact the VM (ping, browse to DSM, map network drive..). Off course, this is other hardware.
I think the problem is situated in the fact I run Windows 2008. I think it will be some setting.
Does someone has an idea how to solve this?
Thx in advance,
Kenny
