Hello,
since I had a problem with BSOD I found in this forum the solution ( [SOLVED] BSOD on vm3dmp.sys after installing VMWare Tools 7 on Windows 7 )
Unfortunately I can not find this DisplayLink driver in my Windows guest - I assume the removal relates to the guest system:
open a command line console on your virtual machine
go to the system drive (usually D:\) in \Windows\system32\drivers\
Rename vm3dmp.sys as vm3dmp.sys.old
Reboot your virtual machine. It should then boot properly, but VMWare display drivers will not have been loaded
Remove the Displaylink drivers which seems to be the cause for the BSOD
So I could not find them in my /Windows/system32/driver directory... Does this mean, the solution is not applicable in my case? But the BSOD screen shows the according error: PFN_SHARE_COUNT and vm3dmp.sys
