Attempt to start a VM from local.sh fails

I have some commands running in local.sh at boot to launch a VM (FreeNAS), then monitor for my iSCSI LUNs to become available before continuing and then autostarting the rest of my VM's.

My issue is that when local.sh runs, the VM does not launch, but local.sh is running the loop looking for the iSCSI luns. At the point local.sh is running, I can log into ssh and run the same exact command that is in local.sh (vim-cmd vmsvc/power.on 1) and the vm powers on, once the iSCSI LUNs are available, the script exits and all the VM's autostart as expected.

I have even modified the command to look like "/bin/vim-cmd vmsvc/power.on 1" in case it was a path issue, but it is still not working.

Thoughts?
