Is there DEV or mirror environment to which we can test in?

Hello -

Is there a DEV environment available to test scripting within?  If not, is self.call_api("/edge/getEdgeConfigurationStack",{‘enterpriseId’:1})… is safe to run in a production environment?

We are trying to get a complete dump of VCE variables to create a script of correctly configured VCEs to automate the deployment of 175+ VCEs over next several months.
