File not found: Virtual Disk.vmdk

I purchased a new MacBook.  After shutting down Fusion on the old MacBook, I copied the virtual machine to the new computer.  When I attempt to start this virtual machine on the new MacBook by clicking File\Open, vmWare throws an error, 'File not found: Virtual Disk.vmdk'.  When I click 'Browse,' I see 17 virtual disks including 'Virtual Disk-000001-s001.vmdk', 'Virtual Disk-000001-s002.vmdk', ..., 'Virtual Disk-000001-s016.vmdk', and 'Virtual Disk-000001.vmdk'.  Selecting any of these 17 virtual disks will not allow vmWare to start the virtual machine on the new computer.  What am I doing wrong?
