I have a weird request...
An application requires a serial loop back COM1 to COM2 on a VM, which is trivial to setup using named pipes. However if the VM is exported as an OVF for distribution the named pipe setup isn't conveyed with the template. Or at least not that I have seen.
Is there a way to encapsulate a setup like this within a template, so additional fettling of the host is not required after deployment?
Also with any of these setups, are there drawbacks in terms of vMotion ability, HA, etc?
