Hi,
I have a question regarding ESXi 6.5 iSCSI connectivity to a NAS...in this case a Synology RS816...but could be something similar.
My setup(and my problem *lol*):
NAS iSCSI Synology RS816: LAN1 & LAN2 configured as LACP in VLAN11 (red cables)
Switch TP-Link TL-SG5428: Ports for NAS are configured as LACP in VLAN11 (red cables)
Server with free ESXi 6.5 Hypervisor (without a vCenter):
- the server is connected in VLAN10 with vmnic0 (black cable)
- vmnic4 & vmnic5 are supposed to be used for iSCSI (iSCSI software adapters) (blue & green cables)
The NAS is reachable with 1 IP, so port binding would make sense, right? See https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2038869
What would be the best setup on the free hypervisor ESXi 6.5 to connect to the NAS RS816 using port binding?
Should the NAS be placed in the same VLAN as the ESXi (VLAN10) ?
