Dear friends,
despite the fact that the non-english keyboard mapping does not work with remote Windows7 desktop
i found out a real problem with the keyboad handling after you add another display to your setting when
you use google-chrome browser.
The HTML5 Horizon client has a nice feature for chrome browser, you can add an addition screen to
your session. This nice feature turns the HTML5 session into a HTML5 horror client, when you are using
a german keyboard and start typing a german umlaut. With only one screen you do not have any problem
but with german umlauts but with two your keyboard gets nutty if you type Ä.
Then every keyboard input is misunterstood, menus get shown buttons becomes activated.
You can stop that madness, when you turn your session back into a single screen mode
(disable one display oder lock screen and login in again).
My Desktop System:
+ Fedora Linux F27
+ google-chrome-stable-63.0.3239.132-1.x86_64
+ german keyboard de/de
+ 2 2560x1440 displays
Remote System
+ VMware® Horizon Client Version 4.6.0 (6510409)
+ Guest OS Windows7
Any ideas what went wrong?
Groovie
PS:
It depends on the application you are typing in. Using a git-bash terminal will immediately cause a
weired keyboard handling. Writing into Word/Outlook will not cause any problem.
It looks like to me, that the Windows keyboard driver inside the VM is part of the problem.
