Hi,
We do not have UEM, We have a large view environment with multiple pools. In one pool the users want to let users add a printer by going to \\printserver\ and connecting to various printers. And then when they log off and log back on later, on a different view desktop (automated floating linked clone pool), the printer should show up. They have roaming profiles and a persona directory on a network share. This isn't working. They keep disappearing.
The other pool there is the desire that when users log in via various kiosks around the buildings it will assign a printer to their view desktop based on the IP of the kiosk they're at. Unfortunately we cannot just tons of pools based on the various locations within the building. Just not feasible. We thought there may be some way of doing ip mappings based on the client IP but I thought the IP mappings feature in the GPO was based on the desktop you log into. In this case the desktops all have the same subnet range for the pool so there's no way of telling which printer they're near within the desktop that I know of. The kiosk would be the key.
but the issue with the second one is, what if the kiosks are all on the same subject across various rooms, floors and buildings? how do you know where the kiosk is to assign an IP mapping to it?
Thanks.
